Theft of small decorated tree (maybe 2 ft.) from our front porch during the night. The Grinch left our other decorations, but I think I’ll take them in at night now – except for our over-the-door garland. .
We have a big front walk and well-lit porch and. our porch furniture has survived for several years.

We have lost our cat, Simba. He was last seen November 29 on Fairway near Yosemite. I was not able to attach a photo, but he is an orange striped short hair. If you have any information, please call 204-8114.

Don’t know how effective a security patrol would be or what action they can take even if they are suspicious of a car or person since even the law can’t stop and search without probable cause. It seems to me that catching someone in the act is slim but i really don’t know what methods a patrol uses.
The idea of cameras with night vision does sound interesting. I may be going too far with this but if a list of all residents license numbers were available to those involved with security it might be helpful. Yes, I know this may a little too close to privacy issues for some or all. Just a thought.

    Hi Neighbors,
Just a warning, thefts continue to happen in our neighborhood, a vehicle was recently stolen early in the morning while it was left warming up in the cold. Also packages are targets and of course mail as well. Several suspicious cars have been spotted cruising each street in recent days. Here are some tips:
    1. Please take a photos of license plates if you suspect someone is scouting the neighborhood. This could be helpful later if there is an incident.
    2. Keep your home exterior well illuminated.
    3. Track your packages and retrieve promptly after delivery or have packages delivered to your business or place of employment.
    4. Get a locked mailbox
5.Have neighbors pick up your newspapers when out of town.

Some residents expressed interest in revisiting a security guard patrol and /or cameras. If interested, please respond to this post. Thanks, Barbara and Mikie.

Hi, Friday night two car windows were broken on a vehicle that was parked on Mt. Lowe. Nothing visible in the car except for a charger. Please be aware as the holidays approach to keep things in your car out of sight so deter thieves. Also keep your property well lit and doors locked.

Please be aware that the Bakersfield Marathon will be this Sunday. The South side of Stockade Hwy will be closed from 7a- until 8:30a( or soon if all the runners pass). Residents of Old Stockdale will not be able to drive out of the neighborhood during this time. Barricades will be put up starting at 5a-7a and durning that time residents will be allowed out with police assistance but once the race starts at Cal State, there will be barricades until all the runners pass. Plan you leaving our neighborhood accordingly to this schedule. We were all supposed to get flyers. I did not get one.

    Neighborhood Update:
Joe Hay at 831 Fairway reported that his LOCKED mailbox located on Practice Drive was severely damaged last night. Please continue to report these type of mail issues or thefts to the Sheriff Department. For your convenience our Neighborhood Watch website has a list of important links and numbers that you might consider adding to your cell phones. Let’s work together to reduce crime: Always use your home alarm. Ask neighbors to pick-up your newspaper/mail if you are away. Leave lights on inside and outside your house. Lock all windows and doors.
    Keep your garage door closed.
Enjoy the Labor Day Holiday ahead!
