On Friday night, February 22nd, my mom’s house was broken into. She lives on the 900 block of Fairway Dr. We are further down the road. She was out of town so when her alarm went off she called us. Someone had kicked in her side door but the alarm scared them off. The sheriff came out and took a report. He said there haw been a large up tick in calls for the last month.

Let’s all do our part to watch one anothers backs and report suspicious activity.

With the recent break-ins of cars and homes there has been much talk in the neighborhood about getting a security company to patrol day and night. At our last meeting people signed up to explore this option. I feel now would be the time to see how much it would cost and how it would help our neighborhood. I will send an email to the people that expressed interest in that committee.
Many of you have approached me, not knowing how to access this website. PLEASE BOOKMARK IT, put it on your phone etc…

A message from Betty Chicca in Stockdale Estates:

Apparently two vehicles in our neighborhood were robbed of wheels and tires last night.
The Vasinda’s viewed their film but it was too dark to see license plate or view the men clearly.
They saw two men in a pickup about 1:03 AM in the morning.
My neighbor went to see the Vasinda’s Escalade and Mary Vasinda’s mother told her…
“The police said they won’t come out. Just go online and file a report.”
    That is a bummer!!
Betty sent a picture of the car without tires.. Incredible.
Unfortunately, our website won’t allow us to copy/paste pictures.

Remember to keep your home and car doors locked and turn on your alarm.
    Enjoy the rain.

Barbara Lee will be sending out a reminder of how to access our Neighborhood Crime Alert
website and the password in case you forgot.

    Marcie,

The bullets are not ours, however the Travis’ truck was also broken into and bullets were taken. Perhaps they belong to them? So far 4 cars burglarized in one night…frightening.

My son Joey’s car was also broken into last night. Got his wallet which was not in plain sight and went through his glove box. Haven’t filed a report yet since we have spent the morning at the bank and are still at the DMV. Our house is lite up like a Christmas tree and our kids come and go
At all hours so these delinquents are very nervy.

Our car was also broken into either late 2/12 or early 2/13 at 513 Fairway Dr. The car was parked under our carport and I must have forgotten to lock it when I returned home in the afternoon of the 12th. It too was ransacked; everything pull out of the glove compartment and left on the front seat. They did take a pair of perscription glasses that I leave in the car. I made a report to the Sheriff. Hi Jill,
By chance did you have a box of Remington bullets stolen out of the car? My husband and I found some when we were walking early on 2/13, on a neighbors’ lawn, and it looked as if they had been stolen and then ” ditched”?

    Hello neighbors,

Our Ford Explorer was broken into sometime in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 13th, in the cul de sac of Tevis Drive. The car was parked in the driveway and was ransacked. The only thing stolen was a radar detector. It has been reported to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department and the officer said he will be adding extra patrol to our area in the coming weeks due to the large amount of activity. Please make sure to lock your vehicles.

Kudos to Elaine Clifford for notifying the Sheriff’s Dept. after spotting a vagrant man walking down Fairway Drive carrying a weed-eater and 2 bikes. Thanks to Elaine’s quick response he was quickly apprehended, questioned, and booked on theft charges. This was not his first offense. You should also know that this robber was not deterred by dogs. In one case he just opened the yard gate and let the dogs run out.

Please remember to turn your alarms on and lock the doors of your home and cars.
Reporting suspicious activity is the best way to keep our neighborhood safe.
    Thanks again, Elaine!
    Mikie & Barbara.
