Don’t know how effective a security patrol would be or what action they can take even if they are suspicious of a car or person since even the law can’t stop and search without probable cause. It seems to me that catching someone in the act is slim but i really don’t know what methods a patrol uses.
The idea of cameras with night vision does sound interesting. I may be going too far with this but if a list of all residents license numbers were available to those involved with security it might be helpful. Yes, I know this may a little too close to privacy issues for some or all. Just a thought.

    Hi Neighbors,
Just a warning, thefts continue to happen in our neighborhood, a vehicle was recently stolen early in the morning while it was left warming up in the cold. Also packages are targets and of course mail as well. Several suspicious cars have been spotted cruising each street in recent days. Here are some tips:
    1. Please take a photos of license plates if you suspect someone is scouting the neighborhood. This could be helpful later if there is an incident.
    2. Keep your home exterior well illuminated.
    3. Track your packages and retrieve promptly after delivery or have packages delivered to your business or place of employment.
    4. Get a locked mailbox
5.Have neighbors pick up your newspapers when out of town.

Some residents expressed interest in revisiting a security guard patrol and /or cameras. If interested, please respond to this post. Thanks, Barbara and Mikie.
