A silver grey sedan has been seen in our neighborhood several times slowly driving all the streets and cul de sacs. They look suspicious as if they are “checking things out”. The first few numbers of the license plate are 63VV . It is a newer model car and is driven by a woman. Many people are not home due to spring break so please watch for our neighbors here in Old Stockdale and be aware. Thanks.

Hi, we had a business card in our mailbox yesterday. Can you tell us what business was being promoted so I know if that was the same group who was in my mailbox? Our mail was light yesterday. Thanks, Christy

The following information was posted by Christine Wensley on Nextdoor Stockdale Estates.
Also, our postman told me that there seems to be an increase in mail theft during the weekends between midnight and 3am. Please put a “stop/hold” on your mail or ask a neighbor to collect it if you are going to be out of town.
Please keep posting any problems or concerns so we can all stay informed. Mikie & Barbara

“Last night my husband came home about 5:45 to the area of Fairway and Fairlane. He observed a group of young Hispanic persons opening mailboxes to place business cards in them but long enough to thoroughly look through each mailbox’s contents. He approached these people and told them to stop. They attempted to argue with him and then attempted to continue saying that they would then place the cards on the front door of the residences. He then took his phone out and took pictures of them and told them to get out of the neighborhood now. That was when one of the females said in Spanish to one of the males that they should leave because he was going to call the cops and immigration. My husband then called the Sheriff’s department, gave a report, turned over the photos and got one of the cards. Had these guys came earlier in the day they would have found a new credit card in our mail. If anyone believes they had mail stolen yesterday please know we did make the report.

From Chad Brock on Fairway Drive. Originally posted on the Nextdoor Stockdale Estates website
Last evening at approximately 3:30am we awoke to a loud boom. This morning the source of the sound revealed itself as a vehicle leaving the neighborhood jumped the curb along the curve of the road, across our front yard and hit two trees. No major damage to property, but the vehicle, most likely a truck, per CHP, will have some serious damage to the passenger side door. Let’s put it this way, the vehicle is definitely missing its mirror and some paint.

Another reason speed bumps should be installed along fairway past Kane all the way down to intersection of Fairway and Tam ‘O Shanter.

It’s either that or we wait until something worse occurs.

    Hi Neighbors,
I just spoke with our mailman who mentioned mailboxes were vandalized again last night and mail stolen. Please do not put outgoing mail in your mailbox, especially checks. They take the routing number and account numbers ,search the internet and hack into accounts or set up their own accounts. They are now using crowbars to get into locked mailboxes as well. Do not leave your mail in your mailbox overnight. I asked about stopping mail for even a day or two and he said that is best or have a neighbor collect your mail for you when gone. I don’t think this problem will go away in the near future.

The rear window of our SUV was bashed out during the night last night. It was parked in our driveway up close to our home at 6606 Mount Hood Drive. Our street is quiet and dark so we usually leave our outside lights on all night but we didn’t last night.

The door to our locked mail box was dangling down when we returned Jan 27. A pry bar left its mark, so the perp got to see an empty mail box.

We installed the locked mail box a few years ago after someone stole a letter with a check included, and then cashed it.

To compound our distress, last night as we watched the debate, starting at about 7 pm someone tentatively pushed our doorbell by our garage entrance every five of ten minutes, but the pusher was not to be seen. This went on intermittently until 11:30, when someone slapped the outside of the door to our back yard. Olly was sitting three feet away working at her desk. That got her attention, and I was soon talking to the Sherriff’s dept.. They said they would send out a car to scout around. We turned on our lights in the back yard, and nothing more disturbed the tranquility of the night.

The disturbance could only be called irrational. Unless we are dealing with unsupervised youthful exuberance, which is often a synonym. “let’s scare the begeebers out of them!! OK, you go first.”

Parents: Do you know where your teeny boppers were last night??
